A small vintage pottery planter from the RG Jar Factory in the Philippines. The initials on the front led me to do a little research, and it turns out it comes from the well-known Pagburnayan pottery district, famous for its traditional burnay jars.
The RG Jar Factory is a long-standing workshop where artisans continue to make pottery using traditional methods, and it’s now a popular destination for visitors wanting to see the process firsthand.
This piece has a rich, dark earthy look with hand-finished detailing around the body. The raised bands and small round accents give it a sculptural feel, and the handmade character really shows through in the surface and shape.
How I’d style it:
I’d use it on a console or coffee table layered on books and lighter ceramics for contrast.
Our antique pieces have lived a life before reaching you, and with that comes a story told through their aged patina, worn textures, and natural imperfections. You may notice small chips, cracks, or variations in colour - these aren’t flaws, but rather a testament to their history and authenticity.
