How to make an affordable table lamp look more expensive

Recently I purchased a classic and simple table lamp at an affordable price. However the table lamp came with a plain grey lampshade that I found unappealing. Determined to elevate the look of my lamp I decided to swap the original lampshade for one of our new block printed linen lampshades and the results were truly remarkable.

I chose our Edgecote Lampshade which works so well with this lamp base in this corner of The Barn. However all 3 of our new lampshades sit perfectly alongside this classic base.

I was on the hunt for a lamp base for quite a while, trying to find something that would suit this size of shade. Most were too chunky or wide and therefore a small shade would look off balance. So when I came across this super affordable one (it's only £32!), I popped down to my local store and picked one up straight away.

If you follow me on social media you'll know that I love a rechargeable bulb. However for this lamp i've gone for something slightly different. These Energizer candle bulbs can be controlled by your phone. You can change the colour, dim the light and even set timers for them to come on at certain times of the day.
