A beautifully textured embroidered cushion with a small-scale floral motif inspired by traditional block-printed textiles. The warm brown embroidery sits against a natural, softly flecked ground, so it has plenty of pattern without feeling overly decorative.
 
Look closely and you can really see the texture and character of the fabric coming through – something I particularly love about this one. Finished with brown piping around the edge, it’s a lovely way to introduce pattern amongst all those warm plains, checks and woven textures.
 
Each cushion is handmade by Louise in Northamptonshire and comes complete with a wonderfully plump duck feather pad. I always choose feather over hollow-fibre because it gives you that lovely full, relaxed shape and can be plumped back up time and time again rather than gradually going flat.

I’d let this one be the pattern in your combination and surround it with quieter fabrics. It looks particularly lovely with Bramley Mocha Oatmeal – the warm brown piping and embroidery pick up the mocha beautifully.
