Westhorpe is a beautifully warm, earthy plain with a lovely natural texture running through the fabric. The soft rust tone is finished with a relaxed cotton fringe around the edge, giving it that slightly undone, informal look that works so well with the rest of the collection.

It’s one of those really useful cushions that you can put almost anywhere. There’s enough texture and detail for it to work beautifully on its own, but it really comes into its own when layered with checks, embroidered fabrics and smaller patterns.

Each cushion is handmade by Louise in Northamptonshire and comes complete with a wonderfully plump duck feather pad. I always choose feather over hollow-fibre because it gives you that lovely full, relaxed shape and can be plumped back up time and time again rather than gradually going flat.

A Note from Louise

“Westhorpe is such a good grounding cushion. I love all the pattern in this collection, but you need those quieter pieces in between, and the warm rust and relaxed fringe on this one make it anything but boring.”

Styling Tip

I’d use Westhorpe to break up some of the patterns in the collection. It looks particularly lovely with Hanwell Ginger and Edinburgh Check – all those warm tones work together, while the mix of check, embroidery and plain texture keeps everything feeling relaxed rather than too coordinated.

It also works beautifully with Astwell, which actually features Westhorpe on the reverse of the rectangular version.
