A classic antique French white porcelain soup bowl with traditional lion head handles on either side. These are known as tête de lion bowls and were originally used for serving French onion soup or small individual dishes.
The shape is simple and elegant, with the lion heads adding just the right amount of detail. They have a lovely, clean white glaze that works beautifully in both modern country and more classic interiors.
I have four available, each slightly different in size and character, and they are being sold individually.
How I’d style it:
I love these stacked on open kitchen shelving, mixed in with other white ceramics. They also look beautiful on a dining table filled with olives, nuts, or a simple dessert, or used as a small planter for bulbs on a windowsill.
Our antique pieces have lived a life before reaching you, and with that comes a story told through their aged patina, worn textures, and natural imperfections. You may notice small chips, cracks, or variations in colour—these aren’t flaws, but rather a testament to their history and authenticity.
